Economist, Cities & Regions Team

We are currently seeking high-calibre Economists for our expanding cities and regions forecast team to be based in our London or Belfast office. The team is responsible for our unique suite of forecasting services that cover more than 5,000 cities and regions across the world, providing regularly updated data, forecasts and analysis for each location.

Candidate Requirement

  • Strong academic education in Economics at postgraduate level;
  • Between 2 and 5 years’ experience as a professional economist.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in teams across different offices and to tight deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the production and development of our suite of city and regional forecasting services.
  • Production of ad-hoc city scenarios for clients.
  • Apply quantitative analytical techniques to large datasets using software such as Excel and Eviews;
  • Handle clients and potential clients effectively and develop Oxford’s relationship with them; and
  • Being able to plan and structure one’s own work ensuring sufficient time for quality assurance.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic education in Economics at postgraduate level.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams across different offices and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills are essential, and experience with Eviews is desirable.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience
