BIS Oxford Economics, part of Oxford Economics Group, is a leading independent economics, construction and property forecasting company. We are seeking to appoint high-calibre Economists to our expanding team to be based in our Sydney office. As the market leader, BIS Oxford Economics provide excellent career opportunities, both within Australia and internationally, as part of the Oxford Economics Group.
This is an 18 month rotational program, providing exposure to both the subscription and consulting parts of the business. The first year offers exposure to our subscriptions business including our Macro Economics, Property, and Construction teams. Over the second year, there is the opportunity to become involved in our consulting practice, using the skills you have developed on bespoke projects.
The first twelve months of the graduate program will entail a rotation through multiple subscription services to get an understanding of each, with a specialist mentor to guide your work within each area. During this rotation phase there will be a heavy emphasis on data analysis/processing and modelling, in addition to the development of essential soft skills. Successful progress through this period is marked by advancement to producing content for our subscription service, which includes direct exposure to clients.
As you progress, you will increasingly be responsible for producing forecasts within a model framework – these forecasts are the core outputs of our subscription services. You will receive training to enable you to prepare briefing articles on topical economic issues; develop econometric forecasting tools; undertake scenario and policy analysis.
Moving into the second year, you will have the opportunity to rotate again, into another part of the subscriptions team or to the consulting unit. Assignment to a specific department will be based on expertise, ability and job fit.
