Job Summary

As Business Development Manager you will form an integral part of our growth strategy for the region. You will be responsible for new business development and to help build the subscription research business within your assigned territory, defining your own new business strategy whilst also playing a vital role in supporting brand-building efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to not only play an integral part in delivering our ambitious growth targets, but to grow with the team, taking on team management responsibilities along the way.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and take ownership of new business development strategies for your market or sector with a view to reaching ambitious subscription sales targets
  • Continuous analysis of business potential and white space analysis
  • Develop a strong understanding of our subscription products
  • Focus on consultative selling
  • Lead generation via cold calls and targeted campaigns
  • Head-up sales presentations and lead webinars with prospective clients
  • Organize and chair round table discussions for key client and prospect groups
  • Devise upsell and cross-sell strategies
  • Provide feedback and suggest product improvements to product teams, based on client interaction and competitor analysis
  • Build-up your own network of clients and prospects
  • Maintain a knowledge of global economic and business trends to facilitate conversations at the highest level
  • As the team grows, take on responsibility for more junior members of the team

Your profile:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree within a relevant field (economics, business, finance, politics or international affairs)
  • A proven, demonstrable sales track record over the past 3-7 years
  • A good understanding of industry, business strategies and the public sector
  • German native speaker and fluent / bi-lingual in English (additional languages are a plus)
  • Strong lead generator
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Must have strong presentation and writing skills
  • A self-starter with the drive to set and reach ambitious goals
  • A team player
  • Enjoys and thrives working in a start-up like environment
  • You should be experienced in face-to-face meetings and able to manage conversations at senior management level
  • Willing to frequently travel to the region to meet with clients and new prospects
